Bear Country Metalworks started in 2019 with a simple idea: make custom metal signs people are proud to hang. Everything is designed with you, powder-coated to last outdoors, and shipped free across Canada. You approve a proof before anything goes to production.
Bear Country Metalworks is located in Carberry Manitoba. We provide our customers with top-quality items, such as signs, house numbers, address plaques, wall hangings, fire pits, and decor, fabricated out of metal. We operate a CNC (computer numeric control) laser that can cut out many intricate designs and items. We service all of Canada/USA. Founders Andrew & Bethany Dueck, launched Bear Country Metalworks (BCM) in 2019. They were young and were looking to find another source of income to supplement their main job in the family business.
The company sold to Kevin Fast in 2025. Where Kevin moved the company to Carberry, MB. With the goal of expanding and serving more customers.

WHAT IS CNC?
CNC is the acronym for computer numeric control, it is a system that uses numbers to plot a position on an X and Y-axis. So when you look at the picture of the table at the top of this page the bottom left corner of the sheet of metal is X0 Y0. The long side of the sheet is the X-axis, the short side of the sheet is the Y-axis. So if the cutting head were to move to the right end of the sheet and to the far side of the sheet you would find yourself at the X120 Y60 position. So all that happens is the computer tells the cutting head to move from what we call the “Machine Zero” X0Y0, to the different points on the machine as we plot them in the design software. So if you were going to cut a 2-inch line along the X-axis, 1 inch in from the bottom corner, your coordinates would be to cut from X0Y1 to X2 Y1. That is a brief overview of what CNC stands for.
WHAT IS LASER CUTTING?
A laser cutter focuses a beam of light down to a spot finer than the head of a pin, and that concentrated heat cuts clean through the steel. Because the beam is so fine, the edge comes out sharp and square instead of rough, and small detail survives the cut. Thin lettering stays thin, the tines on a set of antlers stay separate, and a family name at 3 inches tall still reads the way it looked on the proof. That is the whole reason we cut this way.
